Optimization of Knitted Fabrics for better Thermo-Physiological Comfort by using Taguchi-based Principal Component Analysis

The water, air permeability and thermal resistance of fabrics are important attributes that have a significant impact on the comfort properties sportswear in different environmental conditions. In this work, terry fleece were developed by varying fibre content mass per unit area fabrics. Moreover, thermo-physical fabrics, including permeability, water vapor resistance, analysed before after washing. multi-response optimization knitted was performed using principal component analysis (PCA) Taguchi signal-to-noise ratio (PCA-S/N ratio) to achieve optimal properties. It determined selected parameters (fabric type, finishing, fabric area) had effect PCA showed 100% cotton washing with an aerial weight 220 g/m2 higher value, but lower value.
